The Archons abandoned Harmonia castle on the last days of the rebellion, marking the end of the Council of Light's reign and the dawn of the Free Kingdom of Harmonia. Now in exile, the Archons wandered far into the frozen North and formed the walled city of Sanctum. This city, far secluded from the country its inhabitants once ruled, has opened its gate for no one since its founding, and not one soul has seen or heard from the Archons in over ten generations.

Though Harmonia steadily grew to become a just and prosperous kingdom, the sins committed by the Council of Light three hundred years ago will never be forgotten. Throughout the entirety of their four-century rule, the study of history, technology, and archaeology were strictly forbidden. Books were burned, libraries were outlawed, and all knowledge of the time before their theocracy was systematically purged. Gradually, over the course of several generations, all memories of life before the Archons had been completely erased. However, small pieces of Harmonia's past have since been reassembled through research and the discovery of ancient relics the Archons had failed to destroy. Eighty years ago, the most significant of these discoveries was made: Magic.

Today, Harmonia is a bustling, thriving nation experiencing a magical renaissance. However, dark and troubling times are on the horizon. Corruption and dissent engulf the outer cities, putting Harmonia on the brink of civil war. Monsters rampage through formerly peaceful territories and, most disturbing of all, rumors tell of restless spirits haunting abandoned ruins and the dead rising again. No longer at peace, Harmonia prepares for war.
